Our Administration

Helen graduated from Northeast Normal University in Chang Chun and her major is English. She has many years experience in teaching children English and school management. Helen believes that children's education is the noblest and most rewarding job in this world! Educating each child to build a better world is her life-long dream!
Lesley graduated from Jilin Foreign Language Institute in 2003 and currently I amstudying at the University of International Business and Economics majoring in Business English. She has over 7 years work experience in administration management and 4.5 years management experience in International Montessori School's. Training in morals and good conduct is the foundation upon which all other learning rests at The Family Learning House. She was moved by the education theory and would like to contribute in some way towards the achievement of the goals of The Family Learning House.
Renee graduated from Chang Chun Teacher's College in Jilin made my major is English. She has three years teaching experience in elementary school and two years administration experience in international schools. She is interested in educating children and loves to work in school. She has completed her training in human resource management and is currently completing her AMI training. She will try her best to do everything that she can to serve all the families of The Family Learning House.
FanFan graduated from Qinhuangdao Foreign Language Professional College in 2004, she received her Bachelor of English from UIBS in 2008. FanFan loves the field of early childhood education and has been involved in this area for several years. FanFan has a deep understanding of business administration due to her past experience in this area. FanFan is very energetic and full of enthusiasm and hopes she can give all the parents, teachers and students any support they require.
Zhou Hong graduated from Beijing Education Academy and has more than twenty years of kindergarten working experience .She worked in a Chinese government kindergarten before as a school doctor and has six years working experience in this field. She is responsible, kind and takes care of the children with love and commitment. She hopes that each child will grow up to be healthy and happy.

Teachers of Primary 1

Luara Roark is from America, she has been working with young children in China since 2001. She obtained her Montessori certification from Northeast Montessori Institute in Boston, MA and also holds a TESOL certificate from TEFL International and a Bachelor in Fashion Design. Passionate about helping less fortunate children, in her free time she published two children's books in China with proceeds benefiting The Tibetan Children's Initiative. In the classroom Laura strives to create an atmosphere where children are guided by their natural curiosity for learning and can explore their interests in a loving environment. Laura enjoys practicing yoga and Chinese Tai Chi as well as painting and calligraphy. An avid traveler, she has explored many countries and cultures in Asia. Laura is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has a deep understanding and love for the Chinese people and culture.
Sharon graduated from the Yellow River Medical College of Zhengzhou where her major was pediatrics. She prefers teaching children to working in a hospital because she feels very happy when she sees that the children are happy. Every child is pure and sweet. She really loves them very much. She attended English training for one year in New Oriental School and has been studying Primary Education since last year. She loves reading, listening to music and learning to play piano in her spare time.
Ping Ping loves teaching children because of the great joy she gets from seeing children grow and develop. She studied management and computer information and application in University, but has always been involved as a volunteer in teaching children because of her keen interest in early childhood education. After having taken training on virtues education conducted by the 'Virtues in Us' project in Beijing, Ping Ping officially became a virtues teacher. She loves to see children in a virtuous atmosphere, to explore the special potential and quality in children, to tell stories so that they can feel the beauty in them, to play games and sing songs, to see children feel the power of virtue through games and songs and practicing all kinds of virtues. Ping Ping is currently studying for her AMI certificate to become a certified teacher in the Montessori system. In her spare time she loves to read and look for new games for children.
Ivy graduated from Harbin University in 2002; she has 6 years teaching experience. In order to offer professional Montessori teaching to children, she is currently training with AMI. She hopes she can impart to the children her love of learning and help them become independent and loving members of society. Ivy's maxim is: I am willing to offer all my love, patience and care to each child!

Teachers of Primary 2

Lucy has always wanted to be a teacher. She graduated from Chaoyang Teacher's School in 1995. Lucy then studied English for 3 years at Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute. She has worked in Montessori kindergarten for 6 years and completed her AMS training in 2006. Lucy loves the Montessori pedagogy because she enjoys seeing the children have more freedom to explore their environment and absorb all aspects of knowledge independently and joyfully. Lucy enjoys travelling, swimming and watching movies.
Ms. Du graduated from SongZi Normal School in 1989 majoring in children's education and in 2000 she graduated from HuaZhong Normal University majoring in primary education. She has been teaching children and elementary students since 1989. Ms Du has 8 years work experience in bilingual elementary school and kindergarten. She joined The Family Learning House as a Chinese teacher."I will give all my love to the children and my greatest wish is to see the children have a happy and healthy life."
Su-Yeeng enjoys working with children. It brings her joy to see them learn and grow. Working with the children has made her see the importance of being a teacher and therefore inspired her to pursue in the education field. She completed her MCI Montessori training in Malaysia in 2008. She has experience teaching English to Chinese high school students and 1 year experience working in a Montessori Kindergarten. Su-Yeeng enjoys movies, music, drawing, and sports.
Sara graduated from Hebei Vocational University and major in music education. She has acquired the middle school teaching certificate. She has 3 years working experience as a kindergarten teacher. Sara enjoys working in the kindergarten and is good at communicating and working with the children. She will care for the children with her love and use her professional skill and culture to guide and educate them. Sara enjoys music, reading and traveling.

Teachers of Primary 3

"Love for children is the reason why I have worked as a teacher for 9 years." Phoebe is very interested in anything to do with children and their education. She is particularly inspired when she sees children practicing the virtues." Phoebe graduated from Tianjin Infant Normal Institute in 1999 and then studied English for one year at the Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2006. She completed her AMS training in 2009. Every child is special and here at TFLH I would like to work together with all the parents, who give the most love to their children, to build a harmonious, joyful and educational environment for the children.
His name is Tom and he has been teaching English in China since 2005. He previously worked in childcare in Australia and prefers the Montessori style of teaching as a result of this. He enjoys the Montessori style of teaching because he feels a closer connection and relationship with the students when compared to a normal kindergarten environment. Teaching for him feels more like fun than a job as he enjoys the rewards, challenges and especially the smiles it brings him from day to day.
Dan Yang has 5 years working experience in kindergarten. She graduated from Higher Teacher Training Vocational School in Heilongjiang province. She is currently studying at the Beijing Education Institute. She understands child psychology and their daily habits and is able to manage a class and communicate well with the children. She also loves children. She has a cheerful personality, practices responsibility, love, patience and has a strong ability to build close relationship with children. She has good observation skills and is able to create different teaching methods for different individuals and is good at group activities, music activities and activities. She also has Montessori, Chinese, and kindergarten piano teaching experience.
YanYan graduated in 2005 from Beijing Dongcheng Normal School. She is currently studying to be a preschool education specialist at Beijing Institute of Education. She worked for 4 years at the Zhong Zu Bu kindergarten as a lead teacher and as a result has a good working knowledge of child development and child psychology. YanYan is responsible, very patient and she loves children. She believes that virtues education and the Montessori pedagogy provide the children with a happy learning environment and it brings out the best in them.

Teachers of Primary 4

Lily graduated from the department of English Education in Huanghuai University in 2006. Presently she is studying Teaching Chinese as A Second Language at Beijing Language and Culture University. She was an Olympic volunteer in a hotel as an associate manager in 2008. Lily attended the 12-day virtues training in 2009 and has been volunteering her time to help set up both Montessori and virtues environments in 2 orphanages and organize training for their staff. She also volunteers her time to visit the elderly and care for animals. Lily is a member of the Foreign Enterprise Service Company and volunteers for any projects that they need help in. She has been working with children for many years and is currently completing her AMS training. Lily loves working with children and enjoys assisting them to develop because she believes every child is unique and she wants to help them fulfill their potential. "I really would like to work with children all her life with love, patience and knowledge"
NingYiwei graduated from Shandong Changle Education Vocational in 2002. She majored in children's education, primary education and special education. In 2004, she graduated from Shandong Normal University and already has 7 years work experience in primary schools and kindergarten. She loves children and enjoys working with them. It brings her great joy to see smiles on the faces of the children. NingYiwei hopeS to teach the children what she has learnt and at the same time dedicate her love to all of them. She hopes through efforts she can help them grow.
His name is Tom. He is honored and privileged to be working as an English teacher at The Family Learning House. He has been teaching English in China since 2003. He has passionate and dedicated to working with children during their early childhood years. The Montessori style of teaching really allows him to have a closer connection and relationship with the children which in turn give him the opportunity to teach, guide and encourage the children to learn more skills at his school. He is also fluent in Chinese Mandarin through which he has a deep understanding and loves for the Chinese people, language and culture. His hobbies include travelling, singing, reading books, playing sports and socializing with friends. He has in the United States of America, Singapore and currently in China. He has travelled to many countries in Asia, Europe and many other counties around the world.
Gina is currently working in her Montessori Early Childhood Certification. She is a graduate of University of Houston with a B.A. degree in Art History. In addition, she has an education certification from California State University. She is a mother of 4 years old twin boys. Originally from the United States, her family and she lived in Beijing for five years.

Teachers of Reception

Grace graduated in 1995 from Wenzhou teacher training school in Zhejiang Provence, her home town. Then she studied child art education at Chaoyang Worker's College graduating in 2004. In the summer of 2009 she finished my AMS training. She has worked as kindergarten teacher for 13 years with the last 2 years spent teaching at Montessori kindergartens. She would like to share her experience with students here at TFLH. She would also like to bring out each child's potential and cultivate their creativity, imagination and expression through music and art.
Anna has always wanted to be a teacher. She graduated from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia in 2000. She spent her first year working at a variety of schools in the United Kingdom. Then she went back home to Australia for 4 years working at the Fremantle Language Development Centre. A school for children with speech and language impairments. She also worked as a coordinator for children in a mainstream school who were at educational risk. Anna then moved back to the United Kingdom and worked in a private special needs school in the heart of London. She worked with children with a variety of needs including speech and language, autism, emotional and behavioral and gross and fine motor difficulties. Anna loves working with children, nurturing and encouraging them to discover their talents and helping them to achieve their maximum potential in all areas of education.
Maggie graduated from Beijing Dongcheng District Vocational School in 1995 and majored in pre-school education. After that she got a Bachelor's Degree in English at Beijing Secondary Foreign Languages Institute. She has 9 years teaching experience with 3.5 of those years spent in International Montessori Schools. Maggie enjoys being with her students and sharing her knowledge with them. She is willing to devote her heart and her patience to all her students by being very attentive to their daily needs. She loves children very much!
Aaron graduated from Wuhan University of Science and Technology in 2008 and he has been teaching children since he graduated from university. As a primary school teacher it is his great honor to provide a nurturing environment for children that will help them grow and develop. Whenever he thinks of their smiling faces, he knows that they will have a wonderful time here. Aaron feels that the work is sacred and that the responsibility is heavy. Therefore, he will try his best to let the children feel happy and to let them understand the importance of the virtues.

Teachers of Toddler 1

Grace worked for almost 6 years at TFLH before graduating from Beijing Foreign Studies University. She completed her AMI Montessori training course to be a Montessori Diploma Directress of Infancy (from 0 to 3 years of age) in February 2009. She also completed the Virtue in Us training in 2005. "I like Yoga and through it I hope to be able to teach the children about joy and peacefulness.""I feel very happy when I play and work with them together, I learned a lot from the children. I believe that every child is very special and can be a brilliant gem. We can guide them to develop their inner excellent potential and allow their radiance to shine out!"
"I am an enthusiastic individual, interested in humanitarian work in China that utilizes my experience in working with children. I am also keen to learn new areas of work in order to expand my skills and understanding of social work across different cultures."This is how Auntie Ayako characterizes her present goals. Generous and kind-hearted by nature she has always found social work to be her calling. She holds a BA (Hons) in Social Work from the Bournemouth University, UK as well as a diploma in nursing from Japan. Her worked has always involved helping children or the underprivileged. She is very excited about the opportunity to work in the Toddler 1 classroom of The Family Learning House and brings with her a calm and kind nature as well as a love of languages and culture.
Jessica has always wanted to be a teacher. She graduated from Shijiazhuang University in 2008. Dancers to participate in 2007 China Association of Chinese children's stars dance training, China Association of registered teacher`s dancers. Jessica teachers are very friendly, to be creative and have a solid foundation of professional knowledge.Jessica enjoys, traveling, Photography and swimming.

Teachers of Toddler 2

Yuan Yuan graduated from Inner Mongolia Higher Vocational School, and major in Child Education in 2000. She has finished Child and Elementary Education in 2005. Since 2005 Yuan Yuan has worked in kindergartens. She has four years experience working for the "Mummy and Me" program and is currently a lead teacher at The Family Learning House. Yuan Yuan loves children very much and feels that all children are very optimistic, positive, and lovely by nature. Her dream is to be of service to children and help them grow up to be well-rounded human beings.
DongDong graduated from Shandong Qilu Conservatory of Music and she has two years work experience. She loves teaching children and enjoys being with them because they give her so much joy whenever she looks at the pure smiles on their faces. She feels happiest when she imparts her knowledge with them. She will try her very best to work hard in this Montessori environment so that the children here can enjoy learning in a happy and caring environment.
Jaclyn is a Malaysian but she studied in Singapore and obtained a degree in business in America. She realized her great passion in teaching children after she was blessed with her elder child, Iowa. It was then that she took up the offer to work as a Parent & Teacher Toddler Group Leader in a Community Playgroup during her 3 year stay in Hong Kong. She also worked with some parents in their homes teaching English through songs, story-telling and interactive games. Being with toddlers is so much fun! It is just so amazing to see how they thrive in their own natural needs and rhythm! They make her feel young and always bring joy to her heart as well as adding a new meaning to her lives.
Lily graduated from Children Normal College of Beijing West City and has been working in the field of children's education for 13 years. She has been a Toddler Community teaching assistant with The Family Learning House, Shunyi since September 2004. Lily participated in professional development at TFLH and has her Chinese Ministry of Education Kindergarten and Elementary teaching credentials. Lily is also a certified music teacher for early childhood.
Sunila is from Manchester, England. She graduated in 2006 with BA Hons in East Asian Studies. She is passionate about China and learning more of the language and culture. She came to Beijing in 2008 to work as a volunteer at Blue Sky Foster Home. She is dedicated to working with the children there and helping improve the quality of their lives. The Montessori training really inspired her there to learn more and now to work in a Montessori classroom. In her free time she loves to travel and have been to many countries in Asia and around the world. She backpacked for a year through Asia. She is also a keen photographer. Previously she worked as an English assistant in primary school in Hong Kong and as a private tutor. She loves children very much!
Jenny graduated from Taishan University in 2008 majoring in English education. She chose to be a teacher because she loves children. Through her works at TFLH she has seen that the Montessori philosophy allows children to work independently and to develop many virtues which are often different to traditional education. Jenny enjoys travelling, reading and surfing the internet.

Other Teachers

Cherry graduated from Hebei Normal University in 2003 majoring in music education. She studied at the School of Continuing Education, Central Conservatory of Music in 2008 and completed her level 1~3 piano teacher qualifications. Cherry has been working as a piano teacher for 3 years and is now the piano teacher at The Family Learning House. "I love teaching piano and working with each student. I would like to devote all my time to enthusiastically guide the children to the sacred temple of music."
Yvonne graduated from Central Conservatory of Music (CCM) in 2003, majoring in piano playing of music education. Since the study in CCM, she has been teaching piano. Yvonne is certified in teaching and music theory of Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and specialized to present to an active style with an element of fun, to help strengthen the students' desire to continue to express and improve music. Now, Yvonne is a piano teacher in Helen's Art Center and the Family Learning House in Beijing. She is passional, patient, vivid and professional, and can make every student edified in the music art.
Jeff graduated from Tianjing Normal University majoring in Physical fitness and education .He has more than twenty years of PE teaching experience, which include coaching and training in the fields of tennis, football, swimming, basic physical exercise and fitness training.He is responsible, patient and fully qualified for his role in the school.
